This class may also be taken as Private Training with one-on-one instruction. 

This class focuses on safe winch recovery.  Covers the basics as well as advanced winching techniques using single and multi-pulley blocks. Includes workshops and recovery on challenging terrain. This class is a must for anyone who owns or plans to own a vehicle mounted winch. Passengers ages 7 and up.  Note: This class is usually held 9am-12pm on the same day as the Ellenville Coach & Drive 1pm-4pm, note the two classes run different trails on the Ellenville property. Students may bring their own vehicles with 4-Low and front/rear recovery points or rent a NORA vehicle for use on the trails.

Length: 3 hrs on-site (9am – 12pm)
Location: Ellenville Training Center, NY
Who: This class is highly recommended for anyone who operates a vehicle off-road or in low traction terrain.
Off Road Driving Experience Level: All experience levels are welcome. Trail ride includes mountain trails with steep, rocky terrain. By-passes are available for stock vehicles. Our Essentials or Intro classes are recommended prerequisites but are not mandatory.
What’s Covered:  Class begins with a live presentation, followed by outdoor workshops and a trail ride where lessons learned are put to use on steep terrain. NORA provides all recovery gear, however students are welcome to bring their own equipment. Includes direct pull and use of pulley blocks.
Requirements: Bring your stock (unmodified) or modified 4 wheel drive vehicle with 4-low and front/rear recovery points. Vehicle must be street legal, registered & insured. Drivers must have a valid domestic or international license.
Vehicle Rentals: NORA trail rig rentals are available; Contact us to reserve a trail rig before registering.
